Warsaw is the official Polish host city of the European Football Championships in 2012. On 18th April 2007 UEFA has presented Poland and Ukraine as new host countries of the Euro Football Championships in 2012. Beside them, there were Italy, Hungary and Croatia competed for right to organise Euro Cup in 2012. Ceremony open game will be played on June, 2012 in Warsaw.

History

Polish capital and the biggest city inhabited by 1,7 mln people.
Located in central Poland nearby Vistula river. It is a most important administrative and economic place in the country.
During second world war, Warsaw was completely destroyed by German army and Polish citizens had rebuild it once again and back city to its previous look.

Nowadays, this is one of the fastest growing cities of Euro. It is a center of business and trade.
 
Investments are visible everywhere you look. The city has become one big construction and renovation site. Specially, because Warsaw is one of four Polish host cities to organize the largest European sport event in 2012.
Warsaw has the biggest airport across the whole Poland which operates almost half of all flights in Poland.

Euro 2012 : The National Stadium in Warsaw was officially opened on Sunday 29 January, 2012 with an inaugural concert of Polish rock bands.

The National Stadium will be the main arena of the European football championships Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

On 8 June, the stadium hosts the official Euro 2012 opening ceremony and match against Poland and Greece.

Beside Euro 2012 group stage matches, one quarter-final and one semi-final will be played there.

The National Stadium in Warsaw is a modern arena with the sliding roof, which is actually one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

It will be able to sit 58,000 of spectators. The construction costs more than €500 million.

It is the only Polish holding a closed stadium roof, so it becomes independent of the location of weather conditions not only for sports events. Inside the stadium's parking lot for 450 buses and 4,000 cars.
